Summer 2007 GRSLE fieldwork concentrated on researching the impacts of 2006's Little Venus Fire, which burned approximately 35000 within our research area.

At one point during the summer, we encountered a group of children being taught that theft of artifacts from Forest Service lands is OK. This attitude poses a much greater threat to the region's archaeology than do other things, such as major fires.
